Are you having trouble in making a decision for whom to cast your vote in the upcoming November elections? Stallings or Wilder for the Tennessee State Senate; Kerry or Bush for President of the United States of America, local and other state offices...if so, the October meeting of the Hickory Withe Community Association may have the answer in helping you arrive at an informed decision in casting your vote.
A “2004 Candidate Forum” is being held on Thursday evening, October 7, at the Hickory Withe Baptist Church, 17675 Highway 196 North. The event will begin at 7 pm; feel free to arrive at 6:30 and introduce yourself as members and guests arrive.
At this forum you will be hearing from candidates or their representative from the Democratic, Independent and Republican Parties who are running for positions in the November elections. Also invited are incumbent office-holders whose terms are not open for re-election at this time, plus elected officials from state and local offices, including mayoral and commission offices.
A question and answer session will follow, after which you may talk with these candidates one-on-one. Refreshments will be served. This will be a fun and informative event…see you on October 7th!
"Withe is defined as a flexible twig or branch, and it is on account of the great number of hickory trees in that locality that Captain Lenow named the place Hickory Withe."
